The Horizontal Bend Testing Equipment has been in production since 1988 and is used per NFPA 1932 to test ground ladders once a year, or after a ground ladder has suffered a dramatic event. A dramatic event include being exposed to temperature above 300 degrees, where one or more Heat Sensors have changed color that indicates that the aluminum may have been compromised and may no longer be able to withstand the load requirements that it was built for. Per NFPA 1932 the weight test is the only test that can be used to put this ladder back in service once it has passed the test.
